Ford left a mark in customers  mind with its premium SUV Endeavour when it was introduced in Indian market, however the spotlight was stolen by other big size cars in the segment dimming Endeavour’s pride. Ford is back with a vengeance, the SUV gets a series of upgrades. The latest Ford endeavour  SUV looks bigger in terms of stance and better in context of styling. Equipment list is rich and on par with competitors.  Ford has given better cabin comfort and  performance with fair price tag which will tempt enthusiast to get Ford keys on their hand.

New Ford Endeavour Exterior

Appearing longer, the new Endeavour has a hulk like looks and frankly it goes well with the SUVs identity. Design has matured gracefully; the chiselled wide bonnet in front comes with curved lines. Front profile is grand as it gets chrome radiator grille and lean head lamps. The lower bumper gets a large silver  skid plates , a rectangular fog lamps and small air intakes. Wheel arches are huge, but the space  between arches and tyres ruin the side view and make  18 inch wheels looks smaller.

Ford Endeavour has side stepper, black finished window frame, chrome treated outside door handles, chrome finished outside rear view mirrors and bigger curved lines class up the entire look from side. Rear is designed equally well. The slightly projecting tail gate works well and the short wind-screen lends it a fashionable touch. The wrap-around tail lamps, integrated spoiler, chrome garnish on boot lid, body painted bumpers and silver skid plates on the lower bumper enclosing fog lamps increase the rear styling.

New Ford Endeavour Interior

The dual tone dash looks fashionable and the quality of material used increase the aesthetics. The whole the cabin looks plush. Fine black leather is wrapped on the upper side of dash, around the steering wheel and gear knob. central console is finished with piano black finish and  gets a fairly large touch-screen with long mounted vertical AC vents equipped on both sides. As we come down there are  buttons and dials for temperature. There is an integrated cupholder and there are dual glove box providing enough space for storage. Instrument cluster is large enough with a big speedometer and plenty other  meters for providing necessary information to the driver.

Leg room is good and comfortable in front and second row seats, for that matter even the third row seats are well spaced offering decent leg space. Ford endeavour review second row seat legspace

New Ford Endeavour Features

Necessary features include outside  fog lamps in front, mud flaps in front/rear, body painted bumpers in front/rear, silver finished skid plates, roof rails, side stepper, chrome finished door handles/wing mirrors, turn indicators on outer mirror, LED tail lamps with LED daytime running lights and rear spoiler with high mounted stop lamp.

The  second row gets LED map lamps and third row comes with LED roof mounted  lamps. There are four power outlets provided inside. For storage Ford has provided an illuminated and lockable glove-box. Seats are covered with premium leather upholstery Front bucket seats are fixed and an arm rest is placed in the centre with  storage compartment. In the second row, 60:40 tip & slide, fold seats with reclining function are present.  Third row comes with 50:50 flat fold seats which allow creating generous space at back when we need to carry an extra luggage space.Inside the large cabin the three rows are well spaced and cushioned seats adds the luxury.

There is a multi-information display. Driver’s seat can be operated electrically, door handles in front are chrome finished and there is an option for multi-coloured ambient lighting along with scuff plates.

The additional  features includes remote keyless entry, central locking, front & rear power windows, tilt adjustable steering, dual horn, one touch up/down with anti-pinch, power foldable and adjustable ORVMs and rear parking sensors which adds much more luxury and comfort. A dual zone climate control system damper the temperature inside.  Power lift gate associate with anti-pinch sensors.

Other vital features in new Endeavour are rain sensing wipers, adjustable speed limiter, cruise control,power windows in front/rear, heated side mirrors, driver and passenger sun-visors with vanity mirrors, automatic head lamps, HID head lamps with auto levelling & jet wash, front parking sensors, tyre pressure monitoring,  semi auto parallel park assist, power folding 3rd row seat, electronic panoramic sun roof and terrain management system.

New Ford Endeavour Safety & Security

Cushioning passengers from all sides are multiple airbags employed in front for driver and co-passenger along with sidebags, curtain bags and driver keen bag. A raft of other important safety features aboard are hill launch assist, emergency assistance,  engine immobilizer, driver & passenger seat belt reminder, seatbelt pretensioner, Ford MyKey, volumetric burglar alarm and hill descent control.

New Endeavour Accessories & Infotainment

Ford has integerated  a SYNC system with voice control and a TFT touch screen. An integrated active noise cancellation device enables the  cabin remain quiet. Music can also be played through FM/AM radio system, AUX-In, USB ports (dual), CD and MP3 player. Cabin gets 10 integrated speakers with Bluetooth connectivity.

 

New ford Endeavour Engine Specifications & Transmission

The all diesel engine line-up comes with a choice of two powertrains,  a 2.2 litre Diesel engine and a 3.2 litre Diesel engine . Ford endeavour is available in two-wheel and all-wheel drive variants. The 2.2 litre, four cylinder diesel engine makes 160PS at 3200rpm along with 385Nm torque between 1600rpm to 2500rpm. The engine comes with a six-speed automatic gearbox.

On the otherhand the 3.2 litre, five cylinder diesel engine churnsn out 200PS of peak power at 3000rpm along with 470 Nm of torque between 1750rpm to 2500rpm.  Drive is sent to all four wheels via a six-speed automatic transmission.

New Endeavour Performance.

Among  two engines, the lower displacement 2.2 litre diesel motor is more efficient and smooth. It easily pulls off playful performance. It will be the best option for the city drive and for the one who have only short drives. While  the 3.2 litre engine seems stiff.This will be the best car for high range areas and for the one who loves offroad performance. Engine develops fair amount of noise even if it has noise cancellation system. Moreover the six-speed auto box works pretty well but sometime we will feel the low response like it take time to downshift while accelerating hard.

New Ford Endeavour Braking & Handling

Braking is assigned to a set of disc brakes fitted in front and rear. The SUV comes with anti-lock-braking system with electronic brake  distribution(EBD), electronic stability program(ESP) and traction control to further support the braking action. Ride and handling is very good and impressive The humongous SUV is very agile and the active electric steering wheel takes on all challenges confidently and gives us more confidence to play with the car. Suspension is so smooth too and manages to balance the vehicle on almost all types of surfaces but have a small amount of body roll.

265/60 tyres with R18 alloy wheels are placed carefully under the arches.This tyre has massive presence which give good looks for the car.

overall both the Ford endeavours are worth and lot I feel new here. They are far modern, they looks good, have good safety, interior are excellent. Car have good space and enough ground clearance to go over anything, drives good and a choice of engines to choose from, so lot going for new endeavour. Now its your turn to choose which one. 2.2 or 3.2?
